British pop superstar George Michael was charged with drug possession in London after a concerned passerby saw him slumped in his car and called police.
Paramedics were called to the scene as well Saturday, but it was determined the former Wham! singer was not in need of medical attention, the Sun reported.
Michael, 42, was arrested for suspicion of drug possession after police found small amounts of marijuana and GHB, or liquid ecstasy, in the vehicle.
It's my own stupid fault, as usual, Michael said in a statement Monday. I was in possession of class C drugs, which is an offense, and I have no complaints about the police, who were professional throughout.
Michael, who turned his 1998 Los Angeles arrest for lewd behavior into the song Outside, said not to expect an encore performance.
P.S. I promise I won't make a record out of this one -- even though it's tempting, he said in his statement.
Michael is one of Britain's most successful artists, having sold more than 80 million records during his 25-year career.
