Moore's 'Sicko' set for 2007 release
    Big News Network (UPI)
    Tuesday 11th July, 2006

Filmmaker Michael Moore e-mailed fans that his newest documentary Sicko, about 45 million Americans without healthcare, is due for a 2007 release.

Moore said Friday his follow-up documentary to Fahrenheit 9/11 is about three-quarters complete, Daily Variety reported. Fahrenheit set the record for documentaries, earning $119 million in the United States, and the producer Weinstein Co. is projecting a $40 million gross for Sicko.

Moore received 19,000 responses to his February call for personal experiences with the healthcare system. Pharmaceutical companies are already planning a counter attack, including warning employees not to allow Moore to interview them.

But Moore indicated the documentary will take an unexpected approach.

I don't think the country needs a movie that tells you that HMOs and the pharmaceutical companies suck, said Moore. Everybody knows that. I'd like to show you some things you don't know.
